Writing Mr. Wrong by Kelley Armstrong


Kelley Armstrong can write a strong novel in any genre.  This is the second romance that I have read by this author and it was another winner.  This one was set in Vancouver and between a writer and a professional hockey player. Gemma had a crush on Mason in high school but he turned out to be a massive jerk.  Fast forward twenty years later and Gemma has become a published author using Mason as inspiration for her alpha male lead in her first novel. Mason is a  professional hockey player nearing the end of his career and has recently gotten bad publicity after he failed to support his teammate.  Gemma and Mason are set up on a TV show and it ends up helping both of their careers.  They decide to go out again to help their careers and sparks begin to fly. Everything should work out perfectly except there is more to both of their stories. 


This was a really cute contemporary romance.  It was easy to get lost in the story and I really liked both characters.  I did wish that there was a little more action but the romance was solid.  I also liked learning a little more about hockey.  Overall, this was an enjoyable read and anyone who loves romance or just a great story will enjoy this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this dual timeline novel that takes place on the Amalfi Coast in the early 1800s and present day. Mari is a streghe or sea witch in Positano. Mari and other women from her village use the power of the sea to protect their village and help them be prosperous. The only problem is Mari hates the sea and wants to leave her village. The sea took her mother and sister and she no longer wants any part of it. She has a plan to escape and find happiness when things go horribly wrong.  This was an excellent start to a new series.   Zo has lost everything when she learns that she has received an inheritance from an unknown relative.  She travels to Divinity, Louisiana and finds out that she stands to inherit millions as well as a home but there are some very strange and constricting conditions.  She soon finds out that everything she has known is not what it seems.  She is thrust into a  world of witches and other paranormal creatures.  She must keep her head and find out everything she can if she is going to survive. Karen Marie Moning is one of my all time favorite authors because of her writing. She blends mystery, romance, fantasy, and suspense in this must read story.  I love that Zo is a strong female.
